About The Group
Noted for their extensive repertoire, the Southwest Chamber Winds offers audiences a sampling of the wonderful variety of music available for small wind ensembles. Founded in 2013, they have performed widely in New Mexico and West Texas. Their musicianship and their intriguing commentaries about the music and composers have made them popular with audiences.
PAGE BARTZ
Page has toured in the U.S. and Orient as principal bassoonist with the Mantovani Orchestra. For five summers she also toured in Austria and Hungary with the Festival Orchestra of the 18th Century. Ms. Bartz has been very active as a chamber musician in the Dallas – Ft. Worth area and since moving to New Mexico.
CARL FELS
Carl toured extensively in the U.S. and Orient as principal oboist with the Mantovani Orchestra. For a number of years he also played with the Symphony of the Americas in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. As a chamber musician, he has perfomed in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as the U.S.
DAVID ROSS
David has been a featured performer at music festivals and conferences in Europe (England, Germany, and Switzerland) and in the U.S. He is also in much demand nationally and internationally as a clinician and lecturer. David is principal clarinet of the El Paso Symphony and has appeared often in local chamber music concerts.
